Eden Hazard has been an exceptional player for Chelsea in his over six years at the club, regarded by many as one of if not the most skilled and ability wise best player to ever put on a Chelsea shirt. The Belgian star over the years has become a fan favourite and loved by many football lovers worldwide, and if he did make the move, it would leave all Chelsea fans across the world distraught.
However, his ability hasn’t gone unnoticed, with many of Europe’s top clubs lurking from afar, one being Real Madrid, which has definitely been the most threatening to Chelsea trying to keep hold of ‘The Magician’.
Real Madrid
Hazard hasn’t exactly hidden away from the fact he has certain desires to become a so-called Galactico and has made it clear on numerous occasions that a move to the Spanish capital is a possibility, but has also made it clear that he wouldn’t be unhappy to remain at the Bridge. Madrid are the pinnacle of football in most respects, usually getting exactly whom they want and it is most footballers’ dream of representing the shirt. There have been many occasions similar to the Eden Hazard situation where the deal has gone through, such as the Ronaldo saga and also the Bale and Modric deals.
Real Madrid have been crying out for a galactico signing to have somewhat of the same impact as Ronaldo ever since his shock summer departure, with Hazard being tipped to make the move, but it never concluded to anything. Madrid fans were angry and slightly worried going into the new season, and that was clearly understandable considering their season so far hasn’t gone exactly successful, with ex-manager Julen Lopetegui being sacked at the end of October. Things have seemed to take a turn for the better since Julen’s departure.
Many people believe that being in La Liga is a must, if a player wants to capture the Ballon d’Or, and Hazard will obviously be looking at these sort of things when coming to his final decision.
Hazard’s Premier League stats:
Appearances: 219
Goals: 76
Assists: 43
Wins: 132
Losses: 38.
Conclusion
Chelsea have managed to fight off interest from other clubs in the six years the Belgian magician has been at the club. However, each window it seems to be getting more difficult and with Hazard’s contract coming to an end in the summer of 2020, this coming one will be the decisive window, the Blues will either be looking to tie Eden down to a new contract or cash in.
