For someone expected to fail because of lack of experience in the coaching job, he has done well for himself. And now, he has an abundance of talents to choose from to make a team, especially on the wing where the youngsters line up for a chance to be called to action.

One such player is Christian Pulisic, the American international that has made the Americans accuse Frank Lampard of bias for not giving him enough playing time. The youngster started for Chelsea against Burnley and gave an impressive performance, rewarding with a hat-trick.

His brilliant performance has had many fans talking about what a squad Frank Lampard is building in Chelsea. Everyone seems to be impressed with Pulisic and his teammate, Fikayo Tomori isn’t left out.

While speaking on Evening Standard as seen on Daily Mail, the Chelsea defender had expressed his happiness to see Pulisic stand up to the challenge and how his hat-trick has raised the bar for Chelsea youngsters.

“Everyone is disappointed when they don’t play.

“We have got a lot of talented players, so you just have to be patient and when you get your chance you have just got to take it like he did on Saturday.

“I am really happy for him — that patience and hard work he showed in training has paid off.

“You have got to be on top of your game, not only in the games but in training as well.

“It is good Christian has come in because everyone has to be on their toes.

“No one knows their position is safe and that drives the team on and brings the best out of each individual.”

The effect on Chelsea

Healthy competition is the best way to develop and with the youngsters lined up in Chelsea, we could be looking at a force to reckon with if Frank Lampard eventually succeeds in making them into the team he has planned.

It’s not just in the wing but in all positions of the club. Fikayo Tomori in defence, Mason Mount in midfield, Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic on the wings. It’s really a good thing that these players know their position won’t just be there for them to get back to whenever they want to so it pushes them to get better every second.

The abundance of youngsters that are willing to develop is a blessing for Chelsea and all Frank Lampard needs is to find the balance on using it to his favour.

Conclusion

We’ve all been raving about Hudson-Odoi’s brilliant performance and now we have Christian Pulisic to look out for. The young lads at Chelsea are not taking things slow and the healthy competition is all that’s needed to trigger the good football Chelsea needs to start winning titles.
