Changing managers has to be one of the toughest things to adjust to in the footballing world these days but Frank Lampard has made it look seamless in Chelsea. This doesn’t change the fact that his colleagues who started off with some other clubs aren’t going through the toughest time to get things going right. Take a look at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer of Manchester United and Unai Emery of Arsenal for example. They are proof that life can be really hard as a manager newly in charge of a club.
Even though Lampard has hit the ground running right, he started off the season in a not-so-good way, losing big to Manchester United in their opening day match but it is impressive to see how well the Englishman has learned from his mistakes since then. Currently, Chelsea are third in the Premier League table sharing the same points with Leicester City in second and eight points behind Liverpool in first.
We can all agree that they are still very much in the race for the league title and should they continue with their recent form, they could give Liverpool a run for their money.
So far, seeing how quickly Frank Lampard learned from his first failure and built on it is admirable. Let’s also not forget the transfer ban on the club that could stretch out for two seasons and how swiftly Frank Lampard has responded to it, putting the youths in the club to good use.
Even though that plan has worked out so well, we can’t totally deny that we had doubts concerning using youths with little or no experience at all on this kind of big stage.
Former Chelsea star, Eden Hazard expressed how happy he is to see the current Chelsea squad doing well. He had some praises for Frank Lampard after Belgium’s win against Russia on Saturday as seen on Mirror UK.
“I wasn’t surprised about Frank Lampard
“I know Frank as a player, not a manager but he is a great guy.
“He has shown already in four months that he can be one of the best managers in the world.
“The good thing is they are playing with young English players. They are lucky to have young players with quality.
“Maybe with two or three more they would be first in the Premier League.
“When I saw them play it was nice to see them all play together. I still have friends there are want them to do well.”
Former Liverpool defender Jason McAteer was also effusive in his praise for Lampard when speaking on Racing Post.
“What Brendan Rodgers is doing at Leicester is outstanding and the job Frank Lampard is doing at Chelsea is probably even more impressive.
“I remember speaking to Frank when Chelsea and Liverpool played the Super Cup in Istanbul and you could hear his concerns.
“Where were the goals going to come from? Could Mason Mount do for Chelsea what he had done for Derby? Would he miss Antonio Rudiger?
“But he and his players have answered all those questions and more.”
Conclusion
Lampard has done well in Chelsea so far, and he doesn’t seem to be resting on making the current Chelsea squad into his perfect team. With the pace of development at the club, we can be sure to see Chelsea become a force to reckon with in the nearest future.
