Who is Danny Drinkwater

Danny Drinkwater is an English football player born 5 March 1990 who plays as a midfielder for Turkish club Kasımpaşa on loan from Chelsea. Previously he has played for Man Utd and Leicester City.

On 20 January 2012, Drinkwater departed from Manchester United to join Leicester City for an undisclosed fee.

After receiving the Championship Player of the Month award in December, Drinkwater was also one of three players who received a nomination for the Championship Player of the Year Award. He had successful 2013 year as a professional, founding back of the net seven times and being named to the PFA Championship Team of the Year alongside with his teammates Wes Morgan and Kasper Schmeichel, as Leicester were promoted to the English top-tier after winning the Championship. On 17 June 2014, Drinkwater signed a new four-year contract with the Foxes.

Drinkwater was one of the key players for Claudio Ranieri’s team that won the 2015–16 Premier League title, alongside his midfield partners N’Golo Kanté.

In 2017 Chelsea paid £35 million fee for Drinkwater who has arrived at Stamford Bridge by signing five-year contract, however, he has never been part of the starting XI at the West London club and had three loan spells already while being a Chelsa player, he player for Burnley, Aston Villa and Turkish Super Lig team Kasimpasa.

What are Danny Drinkwater plans for 2021/22 season?

Drinkwater has very little future at Stamford Bridge. He played 22 games in his first year at the club. However, he was then ostracised by Maurizio Sarri and was sent out on loan to Burnley and then Aston Villa by Frank Lampard.

Off-field issues defined Drinkwater’s spells at the two Premier League teams and it wasn’t until January that he embarked on another loan spell, this time at Turkish club Kasımpasa.

Drinkwater played 11 games for the Blues; however, in April spoke of his desire to remain at Stamford Bridge. “I want to continue with Chelsea. I feel like I have unfinished business with this club,”

Given he has played only 16 games since the start of the 2018/19 season, that feels unlikely. And if a deal can be struck – even if it’s just for a nominal fee, the Blues might consider selling him ahead of the 2021/22 season.

What is the salary and net worth of Danny Drinkwater?

In 2017 the English midfielder signed a contract with Chelsea that saw him earning £4.6m per year.

He is currently on a higher salary than he had at Leicester City. As a result, his net worth is rapidly rising. At the moment, he is worth about €17m. His Market Value is declining a little bit because of his age. However, he is still worth a whole lot of money. His current market value is about £18m.
