Who are Crystal Palace?
Crystal Palace are an English Football Club based in Selhurst in South London, England, that currently compete in the Premier League.
Although formally created as a professional team in 1905, the Eagles claim to be a continuation of the original amateur Crystal Palace football team, first established in 1861 at the Crystal Palace Exhibition building after historians discovered a direct lineage through their ownership under the same Crystal Palace Company.
On 26 June 2017, the Eagles appointed their first permanent foreign manager in former Dutch international Frank de Boer, who was dismissed after just 77 days being in charge, with the London outfits having lost their first four league matches at the start of the 2017–18 season while failing to score in any of them.
His replacement, Roy Hodgson, finished in eleventh place in the Premier League in his first season, twelfth in the 2018–19 campaign and fourteenth the following campaign.
The Eagles are a team with a long and storied history, one of London’s most iconic teams and more pertinently to this conversation, specifically home to some fantastic footballers over their 114-year history. Many trips to and from the top flight in the last 50 years have left them with a long list of greats and club legends to flick through.
What are Crystal Palace’s predictions for next season?
Crystal Palace had not a good season as they finished the Premier League in 14th place. Wilfried Zaha could leave the club during the summer transfer window as the Ivorian forward is heavily linked with several clubs.
Eberechi Eze faces being out for at least six months after suffering a “serious injury” following a training incident. Crystal Palace started a new era with a trip to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea on the opening day of the new Premier League season.
The Eagles have a new manager Patrik Vieira who will take on Champions League holders Chelsea on August 14 a tough test to any head coach.
