Chelsea set their sights on swoop for La Liga midfielder
Chelsea are keeping tabs on Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Saul first came to Los Rojiblancos in 2008 as a youngster, earning a call up to their B team two years later. Niguez made his debut for the senior team in March 2012.
Following a successful loan stint at Rayo Vallecano, the Spain international became a regular at the Wanda Metropolitano outfit.
The star has since made over 300 appearances for the club in all competitions, netting 43 goals and helping Atletico to a La Liga title, two UEFA Europa Leagues and a Copa del Rey.
Chelsea not planning to ship out Ethan Ampadu on loan
Chelsea are currently reluctant to let Ethan Ampadu depart on loan this summer in spite of Thomas Tuchel allegedly keeping the door open for the player’s exit.
According to Goal, the club have the intention of holding onto Ethan this season as the Welshman has an opportunity to break into the German coach’s squad.
Ampadu returned to his parent club for the first time in July since linking up with Sheffield United on loan last campaign.
Although the Blades were relegated to the Championship, the 20-year-old defender performed very well in the circumstances.
Chelsea star Kurt Zouma attracts more interest in Premier League
West Ham United remain keen on signing Kurt Zouma before the transfer window closes for business but now they face fresg competition for his signature.
According to Sky Sports, the Chelsea centre-half is the Irons’ number one target and the Frenchman is open to a transfer to the London Stadium, though a £25 million valuation and his £65,000-a-week wages could make a reported move difficult.
And now they have been joined by domestic rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the transfer race to secure his services.
The 26-year-old star is one of several centre-halves that Spurs are allegedly looking at, whilst the former Saint-Etienne ace could be used in a swap deal with the La Liga side Sevilla for their prized asset, Jules Kounde.
Chelsea interested in tying down exciting English central defender

He has worked his way into the German’s plans after a series of eye-catching displays in pre-season and the boss has decided to keep him around the first-team squad.
