Premier League rivals close in on £46,000-a-week Chelsea star
Discussions are progressing over a summer deal which would see Chelsea star Kurt Zouma move to London rivals West Ham.
The parties are negotiating a deal worth in the region of £25 million for the France international, who hasn’t featured in either of Chelsea’s top-flight games so far this term.
Personal terms between the powerful central defender and the Hammers’ management are yet to be finalised.
Kurt has been David Moyes’ top target for defensive strengthening all summer, although the Irons have also been linked with Marseille’s Duje Caleta-Car and Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic.
Denmark international on brink of extending his Chelsea deal
Chelsea are reportedly currently working on rewarding a host of players with new long-term deals, and it looks like that some are closer than others.
Defender Andreas Christensen is ‘very close’ to penning a fresh contract at the club, according to the reliable Telegraph journalist Matt Law, who was speaking on an episode of the London is Blue Podcast.
He stated that the Danish star ‘is staying’ at Stamford Bridge and he has ‘basically agreed’ the contract extension with the club, but they’re just finalising the last details of paperwork.
Having come through the ranks in the Blues youth setup, Andreas will be one of Chelsea’s many academy success stories in the latest seasons after the likes of Reece James and Mason Mount.
Sevilla president on future of Chelsea defensive target Jules Kounde
Sevilla chairman Jose Castro Carmona has insisted the club are under no pressure at all to sell Chelsea-linked Jules Kounde this summer but revealed anything can happen while the transfer market remains open.
“I am not saying anything about a clause. If it is an interesting amount for the club to invest in improving, then we will,” he was quoted as saying by a Spanish source Estadio Deportivo as he discussed Jules’ immediate future.
“Until the 31st a lot of things or nothing can happen. Of course, Sevilla do not have to sell to Kounde. Not at all.”
It remains to be seen whether the Blues will swoop for him in the coming days as they aim to get their hands on the Premier League and defend their UEFA Champions League crown.
