Chelsea are set to step up their interest in Bayern Munich forward Kingsley Coman, who Liverpool and Man City are also monitoring.
Despite being only 25-years-old, France international is one of the most prolific wingers in the game currently, having amassed a massive title haul that includes six Bundesliga trophies with the Bavarians, two Serie A trophies with Juventus and two Ligue 1 trophies with PSG as well as the UEFA Champions League the attacker won with the German club in 2019/20.
Even though Coman has had some injury issues during his stint with the Bundesliga giants, the winger has been a valuable team member and was one of their best footballers last campaign, helping Bayern Munich win another league trophy.
However, Kingsley now finds himself staring at an uncertain future at Bayern Munich due to a deal standoff.
The 25-year-old winger’s current contract with the Bavarians runs out in 2023, with the German club has proposed a new contract worth €13m per season, which will improve his current €9m-a-year contract.
However, the French winger holds out for a pay packet of €18m a year, the same as what teammate Leroy Sane makes. Bundesliga giants, though, are unwilling to meet those demands and are prepared to sell if the situation does not change, alerting a host of top teams around Europe, including Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea.
The London club, meanwhile, have several alternatives in the front-line positions in the form of Havertz, Pulisic, Mount, Ziyech, Hudson-Odoi, while Werner has also been used in a wider role at times by the German tactician.
However, Thomas Tuchel is a big admirer of the Frenchman and wants to add him to the roster, possibly at the expense of one of his current footballers.
Indeed, as per the report, the German coach does not see Hudson-Odoi as part of his plans for the coming campaign and, as a result, the Blues are set to offer the English winger in a direct swap deal with the Bavarians, considering that Bundesliga giants have tried to add Callum on many occasions in the past.
Whether Bayern Munich find such an arrangement, agreeable stays to be seen, considering that they value Kingsley at €90m.
As for Man City, the Spanish coach, who signed the French attacker at Allianz Arena, could possibly look at him as a replacement for Raheem Sterling, who has been linked with an exit this transfer window.
