Chelsea won’t be able to acquire the services of the Serie A giants Inter Milan’s Belgian centre-forward Romelu Lukaku for less than €120 million, according to the latest reports.
The west Londoners have been strongly linked with bringing the former striker back to Chelsea this summer’s transfer window as manager Thomas Tuchel aims to add to his squad ahead of the new term.
However, as per an Italian sport newspaper Tuttosport via Football Italia, the Blues will not get the powerful attacker for less than €120 million.
Inter Milan don’t need to sell any more key men this summer after the Morocco international Achraf Hakimi departed for Mauricio Pochettino’s Paris Saint-Germain.
The report goes on to say that Lukaku is ‘almost untouchable’ at the Italian outfit. The deal looks unlikely as Romelu has previously expressed his willingness to stay in Italy.
Speaking on his future in June, Lukaku responded to questions over his long-term future this summer.
Romelu said: “Yes, I am staying. I’ve already had contact with the man who normally becomes our new manager.
“Maybe I shouldn’t say that yet… It was a very positive conversation. There’s also the challenge of doing it again (winning the league). I feel good at Inter.”
Lukaku impressed for his country at UEFA Euro 2020, netting four goals after an impressive campaign in Italy.
In the meantime, Tammy Abraham is allegedly willing to quit Chelsea during this summer’s transfer market amid suggestions that Arsenal are keen on the centre-forward.
The 23-year-old netted 12 times in 32 appearances for the west London outfit during the 2020-21 term but is down the pecking order in terms of the forward roles under the club’s manager Thomas Tuchel.
Aston Villa and West Ham United have both been mentioned with the striker, while a recent report stated that Arsenal had joined the race for his services.
Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently denied reports that the Gunners were closing in on the loan acquisition of the England international.
However, according to the latest report from The Athletic, there is serious interest from the North London side, and Abraham would be open to a transfer to the Emirates Stadium during this summer’s transfer market period.
The attacker, who is contracted to the Blues until June 2023, has netted 30 times and registered 12 assists in 82 games for the Blues in all competitions.
