A first half penalty from Eden Hazard was enough for Chelsea as they won the 2018 FA Cup with a 1-0 win over Manchester United. The Belgian was fouled by Phil Jones and stepped up to take the spot-kick and finished calmly beyond David De Gea. Antonio Conte sealed the side’s eighth FA Cup title with a win, in what could be the Italian’s last game in charge of the Blues. Here’s how the Chelsea players rated in their FA Cup final win over Manchester United:

Thibaut Courtois – 8

Made a number of great saves to keep Chelsea ahead. His future might still be uncertain, but his performance kept the Blues in the game.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 7

The entire back three were brilliant for the entire game, and made a few good blocks from Anthony Martial late on.

Gary Cahill – 7

A commanding performance from the Chelsea captain, but wasn’t really threatened by a sub-par United attack.

Antonio Rudiger – 9

Chelsea’s best signing this season, and what a performance from the German. Strong, quick, and powerful from Rudiger made him stand out at Wembley.

Victor Moses – 6

Didn’t have the opportunity to get forward as much as he would’ve liked, but coped well defensively, even with the introduction of Martial.

N’Golo Kante – 8

Sensational from the Frenchman, as usual. Constantly winning possession back for his side, and could’ve had an assist if Alonso had scored.

Cesc Fabregas – 6

Very good defensively, which is something the Spaniard isn’t known for. Not much for Fabregas to find, but his pass to eventually lead to the goal.

Tiemoue Bakayoko – 7

Battled hard in the centre of midfield, and merited his starting spot. Not a great first season with the club, but the promise is there.

Marcos Alonso – 6

Similarly to Moses, Alonso didn’t get forward as much as he is used to. Could’ve added a second, but De Gea denied him.

Eden Hazard – 8

The game’s match-winner. His run found him inside the box, and he went down under challenge and duly netted the penalty.

Olivier Giroud – 6

Didn’t have much to do in the game, but he fought well and coped well as the target man on counter attacks.
