Chelsea could be a force to be reckoned with next season if the current transfer rumours surrounding the west London club are anything to go by. The Blues, who are tipped for a top-four finish in the latest English Premier League odds, confirmed the signing of Ajax winger and Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech for £33 million back in February, and are already looking to strengthen their squad further before the current season is even over.

Timo Werner

Last week, the Stamford Bridge outfit emerged as the shock favourites to land highly-rated German forward Timo Werner. Chelsea have, reportedly, ‘agreed a deal in principle’ for the 24-year-old – who was largely expected to join fellow Premier League giants Liverpool.

The Blues are believed to have offered the RB Leipzig striker a whopping £200,000-a-week contract after splashing out £49.4m on his release clause – which was due to expire on June 15th.

It comes as no surprise that the young Die Mannschaft international was in high-demand. He has scored an impressive 31 goals in 42 outings for Leipzig so far this season – adding a further 13 assists. He also boasts 92 goals in 155 appearances for the Red Bull-owned club, whilst his record on the international stage is a total of 11 goals in 29 games.

Kai Havertz

With the move for Werner, seemingly, all but wrapped up, Chelsea have now moved for fellow German sensation Kai Havertz. The Blues are reportedly ready to take on European giants, like Manchester United and Real Madrid for the 21-year-old’s signature, and are believed to be preparing a £70m bid for the Bayer Leverkusen attacker.

Havertz has been leading the line for Die Werkself since the Bundesliga returned following the coronavirus pandemic, and the youngster has taken the league by storm, scoring five goals in six outings – taking his tally for the season to 15 goals in 39 appearances. The 21-year-old also has seven appearances for his country, and scored his only international goal to date in a friendly against Argentina.

Ben Chilwell

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been a long-term admirer of Leicester City left-back, and English international, Ben Chilwell. The left-hand side of Chelsea’s defence is arguably one of their weakest areas with Marcos Alonso and Emerson not reaching the standards set. However, the 23-year-old – who is believed to be keen on a move to the Bridge – will set Chelsea back another £60m!

Chilwell, who still has a whopping four years left on his Foxes contract, has made 118 appearances for the King Power Stadium outfit since making his debut in 2015, and has missed just six of Leicester’s Premier League games this season – providing two goals and three assists.

Andre Onana

Chelsea’s number one goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga fell out favour at the Bridge earlier this term and was subsequently benched for 38-year-old Willy Caballero. And, with the Blues seeking a new keeper, it’s believed they could move for Ajax shot stopper Andre Onana – who has already confirmed he will be leaving the Amsterdam side this summer.

The 24-year-old, who moved to Ajax from Barcelona in 2015, has made a name for himself as one of Europe’s best goalkeepers in the Dutch Eredivisie over the course of the last five years, and is keen for his career to step up a notch. Chelsea will face fierce opposition for the £27m-rated keeper, however, the pre-contract arrival of Onana’s teammate, Ziyech, could play in the Blues favour as the keeper is ‘keen’ to link-up with the Moroccan again.
