Chelsea are currently looking ahead to the Premier League battle against Burnley on Saturday. The Blues beat Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup and must resume duties in the league. Elsewhere, off the pitch, the transfer window is available and Chelsea have been linked with a range of players such as David Alaba, Wilfried Zaha, Ben Chilwell and Timo Werner. Will they splash out the cash now that they can finally sign players again? Frank Lampard seems to want some incoming activity this January.

In accordance with El Desmarque, Real Madrid are considering a bid for RB Leipzig striker and Chelsea target Timo Werner. Regardless of the forward penning a new deal, Zidane is prepared to go for the German international after growing frustrated with Luka Jovic’s form. Chelsea are also considering registering Werner this month, however, there’s been confusion over the release clause in Werner’s contract, with a few outlets quoting as low as £25.6million and a few quoting as large as £51.2m in recent weeks.

Frank Lampard is currently also eyeing a move for £60million-rated Bayern Munich left-back David Alaba this month. Lampard has axed Marcos Alonso from the Blues’ lineup, while Emerson Palmieri has failed to convince his manager that he is the solution for this difficult position from the chances. Lampard has thus shifted captain Cesar Azpilicueta out of right-back to left-back, with Reece James coming in on the right. However, he is looking to sign a long-term replacement for his captain, and Alaba fits the bill perfectly as a consistent performer for Bayern over the years. It remains to be seen if either of these deals come to fruition this month, but Lampard certainly means business and wants the transfer backing to prove this.
