Napoli Raid, Leon Bailey Eyed, and Dzeko Reveals Why

Napoli Raid

With Maurizio Sarri set to replace Antonio Conte as the manager of Chelsea, a vast number of Napoli players have been linked with reuniting with their former boss in West London. There are two new players on this list, with Dries Mertens and Kalidou Koulibaly now rumoured to be wanted by the Blues. In the past week, the likes of Raul Albiol, Jorginho, Piotr Zielinski, and Elseid Hysaj said to be interesting the club. When Sarri does take over from Conte, expect even more rumours to appear.

Leon Bailey Eyed

Chelsea have stepped up their interest in signing Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey, ahead of a potential summer move. The Blues have been watching the youngster for a while, and could make an offer for the 20-year-old in the coming weeks. Bailey had been wanted by Manchester City, but the Premier League champions have now set their sights on Riyad Mahrez, which has left the door open for Chelsea to sign him. The winger is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League, and was spotted in London last week, but Chelsea will face competition for him, as Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are said to be interested too.

Dzeko Reveals Why

After rejecting a January move to Chelsea, Roma striker Edin Dzeko has revealed why he turned down a return to the Premier League.

“Chelsea is a big challenge and I know what kind of a club that is, I’ve been at Man City and I wasn’t ready to move to Chelsea,

“Nobody I spoke to wanted me to move to Chelsea so I decided to stay.

“It has been tough period, a lot of stories and information, true and false, were written, everything went through my head, I wasn’t clear or certain of anything at the time.”

In the end, Chelsea eventually signed Olivier Giroud from Arsenal, and Dzeko helped the Italian side to a Champions League semi-final place.
