Bryan Cristante Eyed
Chelsea are reportedly keen on Atalanta midfielder Bryan Cristante. The Blues are targeting the midfielder, after an impressive season with the Serie A club. He joined Atalanta from Benfica in the summer, but is keen on making a move to the Premier League in the upcoming transfer window. It’s understood that Cristante’s representatives were in London two weeks ago regarding a move to England. Chelsea aren’t the only club said to be interested in the Italian, with Arsenal also keen on the player.
Julian Nagelsmann Considered
As Chelsea continue their search for a manager to replace the yet-to-depart Antonio Conte, with a new manager reportedly in the pipeline. Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly being considered to replace the Italian, after impressing since taking over at the Bundesliga side. He qualified for Champions League football with the German side, and is currently on course to repeat that achievement. The German manager is considered as one of the most promising and upcoming managers in European football, and the Blues are considering bringing him to Stamford Bridge.
Rodgers’ Chance Ruined
Another manager linked with the Blues hot seat is Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers. However, his chances of a return to Stamford Bridge are said to be ruined as he has a poor record of playing Chelsea players who are on loan at his club. While at Swansea, the Blues loaned him Josh McEachran, and he only started one Premier League game under Rodgers. Similarly, Victor Moses was underused by Rodgers during his loan spell with Liverpool. And now, at Celtic, Charly Musonda has only made two starts for the Scottish club since making the loan move in January. Chelsea are keen on hiring a manager who will bring through youth players, and following Rodgers’ history with young talent, the Blues could seek a manager from elsewhere.
