Carlo Ancelotti to Italy
With Antonio Conte’s future at Chelsea in doubt, there has been many managers linked to the hot seat at Stamford Bridge. One manager who has been rumoured with a return to the club is Carlo Ancelotti. However, recent reports have suggested that he won’t be making a surprise return to West London, as he is set to take over as manager of the Italian national side. The Italian had also been linked with a move to Arsenal, following the announcement that Arsene Wenger is set to depart at the end of the season, but Ancelotti is set to make the step into international management instead.
Koulibaly Bid Prepared
Reports have claimed that one of Chelsea’s summer targets is Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly. The Senegalese centre-back has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent transfer windows, and there is a suggestion that the Blues could make a move for him in the upcoming window. Reports say that Chelsea are readying a bid worth up to £65 million for Koulibaly, a fee that Napoli would reportedly find hard to turn down. Chelsea are not the only club interested in the defender, with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool all said to be keen this summer, which could result in a bidding war.
Gael Kakuta Claims
Former Chelsea player Gael Kakuta has hit back at his former club, saying that they “more or less” blocked him from leaving the club permanently. Kakuta, who is currently on loan at Ligue 1 side Amiens, said:
“Chelsea more or less blocked me. The club’s project is to make the business work, to take you young and to sell you later for a lot of money.”
Kakuta also spoke about other young players who were never given an opportunity at Stamford Bridge, speaking about Romelu Lukaku in particular:
“Look at Lukaku, bought by Chelsea and who’s now walking all over the Premier League. No young player has really played for Chelsea.”
